Kindergarten has been learning about Presidents and our American National symbols. Today we learned about other countries’ flags, Spanish speaking countries, and got a better understanding of what our classmates do in EL. We even colored flags and tried drinks and candy from Mexico. Bring on the culture! #WildcatEra #WashingtonOhana #LearningIsFun #AmericaAndBeyond

Washington 3rd graders had their Animals Inside & Out field trip yesterday! Students look forward to this all year and the day didn't disappoint. They truly learned about animals from the inside out! From petting a bunny called "fireball" to feeling the inside of a cow, the day was a major learning success and tons of fun!

From the desk of Washington's Mrs. Mortimer, 2nd grade: Ms. Katherine is in the Para to Teacher program. She has led our Science lessons this week and included some fun activities! Yesterday the students were able to simulate erosion by wind and water and see how it affects the land. I know she'll do amazing things as an educator!! Way to go, Ms. Katherine!! We love having you at Washington! #WildcatEra #WashingtonOhana #ParaToTeacher #LearningIsFun

Did you know that the month of April is Child Abuse Awareness month? Here at Washington, our HAL team created their very own video to get the word out… How to help, how to raise awareness, and how you can be a part of keeping kids safe! They are doing something special as a HAL group to help. Their contribution, as part of North Platte's HAL team, is the creation of a food drive in support of the bridge of Hope Advocacy Center. If you'd like to join them in their cause, please send your contribution with your children to Washington Elementary between April 13 and 24th. Here are the flyers they created. Please check out Facebook for their video!
