HAL had a fun time today exploring aesthetic awareness, imagination, perception, appreciation, knowledge, artistic skills, and fostering creativity. We definitely have some amazing artists around us.

Simmons Says… Happy last GUIDANCE day before break. Once again, we kept the tradition of our “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” read-aloud. It’s our Washington Guidance tradition and I LOVE seeing the new things the students notice and think about each year they grow.
A few student comments:
“Christmas doesn’t come from a store.”
“Maybe we can grow out hearts by showing kindness?”
“We could grow our hearts by doing something for someone who needs our help.”
“You can’t buy Christmas.”
“I’m thankful for my family and roof on my head.” 😁
SIMMONS FAMILY CHALLENGE:
Use the following two questions for your evening discussion.
1) Would our family pass the “Grinch Test”?? If we woke up with all our gifts gone Christmas morning, could we be merry with just our family?
2) How can we “grow our hearts”? Possibly by showing kindness, giving to others, etc.
Reminder: kids receive a piece of candy if they come tell me tomorrow what their family decided/discussed!!

Check out these basketball activities for boys in grade 1st-6th.
