Today's YOU MATTER challenge was to "think of someone in your life who has helped you when you needed help and then find a way to say 'thank you'"! 1. Who did you choose to thank for helping you? 2. What did they help you with? 3. When have YOU helped someone in need? Did they thank you? 4. How do you feel inside when you are able to help someone? 5. Why do you think it's important to both help others and thank people who help you? 6. What's one way to help someone that you know? We love our Wildcat families! Wildcat Families! Here are your daily FAMILY CHAT freebies! 1. Today’s YOU MATTER challenge at school was to tell one person what you’re good at or why you’re special. Share what you’re good at and what makes you special. Let the whole family share. 2. Is everyone good at the same things?? 3. Why is it good to have people who are good at lots of different things? 4. What’s something new our family can try out to see if we like new, unknown things? (Art, a new sport, music, horseback riding, public library time, new games, working out, etc.) 5. Please share any great ideas your family had during your family time discussions! You can even share a family photo selfie to Facebook! If your child finds Mrs. Simmons tomorrow and shares an idea your family had, they will get a Washington Way ticket! Thank you for being a part of the Wildcat family!!

Please help support our school in the Change wars for the NPPSD Foundation by just sending spare change laying around the house. Washington will get a percentage back to use our school. Also, the class that raises the most money will earn a gift card for the teacher to get supplies for the classroom.

Introducing... FAMILY CHAT! Family has the greatest impact on young lives and we are here to remind you of just how important you are! We also know that each family's time together looks different, whether that's in the car between sports or music lessons, during supper, or even getting ready for bed... Feel free to use these "freebie" questions to come together and build on what we talked about at school. As a reminder, this week we are celebrating YOU MATTER across the district. This week is all about learning how we recognize the beauty and value in ourselves and others. Today's challenge for our students was to think of one special person in their life and tell that person how important they are! Family Chat Freebies: 1) Which special person in your life did you pick to tell "you're important to me"?? Parents and siblings, feel free to join in this challenge! 2) How does it feel when someone tells you how special you are to them? 3) How can we let those around us know they're special to us? 4) Could we do something as a family to practice showing importance to one another and those around us? Like a family tradition or challenge? We love our Wildcat students and families! You are important because you play the biggest role in these kids' lives! Keep doing the hard work that parents do.

Hello, Wildcst Families! BIG NEWS! Last year, my fellow School Counselor at Lincoln Elementary (Miss Welsh) pioneered “You Matter” week in the district and encouraged us all to join in on the importance of this week. YOU matter. WE matter. This week, we will be discussing all sorts of ways to see the value in ourselves and in others. Every individual on this planet has value! This week we will focus on learning how to see that beauty and purpose in ourselves and others. Please share how your family joins in on this discussion at home!
