Washington is celebrating "You Matter Week" in Guidance class this week. What this means is that we are thinking about the people who love US the most (parents, grandparents, family, friends, etc.). We learn how to see the value in OTHERS and show them kindness by learning from those who love us first! For example, consider how your mom loves you and how she SHOWS love to you. Well, the other people in your classroom are loved just as much by someone else! That is because we all have purpose and value. We are learning how to be good friends by seeing the value in others and treating them with kindness.

Good morning, Washington Families!
We want to share a couple reminders to help keep our students safe during Pick-Up/Drop-Off and Lunch times.
During Pick-Up/Drop-Off:
Please do not stop or park in the crosswalks or fire lanes. In addition to that, please remember to follow all driving laws - for example, ensure your vehicle is facing the correct direction for the lane you're in.
Classroom/Lunch Visitors:
Our students LOVE having lunch visitors. Help us keep all our students safe by not brining outside food (fast food, take-out, pop, etc.) into the lunch room. If you call the day before, you can order a lunch for yourself through Sysco.
Thank you all for doing the big and little things to ensure the safety of our FAVORITE Wildcats!
Have a great Monday!

Happy Spirit Friday, Washington Wildcats!! Our building was FULL of school pride today and joyful excitement for the return of Treat Sales!
Mrs. Starostka's Kindergarten class had the highest percentage of students in Spirit Gear so they earned a FREE treat from our PTO.
Have a fun and safe weekend!

Washington Sneak Peek!
Today is Library Day and we caught a sneak peek of our 1st graders enjoying "Chickens to the Rescue" read by Mrs. Bruck. This book was written by John Himmelman. Mrs. Bruck does a great job getting students excited to read and knows ALL the books! Keep reading, kids! Readers become leaders!

Washington 5th Grade Ohana fun! Today at recess, we saw an example of how our 5 graders have truly become family. It started with a couple of girls and ended with both sections of 5th graders joining in on this made-up game. When asked, they explained it's "sort of like ring around the rosie but bigger." They all run around in a circle, holding hands, until they all fall down! No singing, just pure joy and screaming! Check out an added video on Facebook! #WAWildcats #WashingtonOhana #GrowingUpTogether

It's hot out there but the cold will come!
Save the date for Washington's Winter Concert!

Day two FLEW!!
Mrs. Gale caught a sneak peek from several classrooms today. We adore our Wildcats and love that we're back together, growing and learning! #WAWildcats #WeRNPPS

We can't wait to see our Wildcats tomorrow morning for the first day of school! (Tuesday, August 13)
There will be Walking Club supervision beginning at 7:45. The tardy bell rings at 8:05. Get in early so you can have breakfast in your classroom with friends!
Lunch options tomorrow will be chicken nuggets or a sunbutter jelly sandwich.
Wally will be waiting to see you! It will be a great day!

We are excited to see all of our wildcat families this evening at our open house. Just a reminder that open house for preschool is 5:00pm to 5:30pm and kindergarten through 5th grade is 5:30pm to 6:30pm. We can't wait to see our students and start the 2024-2025 school year.

Aloha Washington Ohana!
For those of you who are familiar with Hawaiian culture or have seen Moana, you know that "ohana" means "family." Our staff gathered together yesterday for our first official day back!! The only thing missing?? YOU!
We can't wait to see our wonderful students and families next week!
