If you weren't aware, Washington's 5th Grade Ambassadors team is a BIG deal! They had their first meeting after school Thursday. this is the largest group Mrs. Simmons has ever had with 21 students making the team this year! Throughout the year, these students will develop skills for time management, social engagements, conflict resolution, identity, and developing dreams & goals! They will also find ways to serve their school and community. Keep an eye out for these up and coming leaders!! Our theme for the year: "Work hard; play hard." You can see this motto in our first group pictures!

HAL had their first meeting yesterday! They challenged their brains AND had a bit of fun! Students designed & built Lifesaver race cars. They were challenged to problem solve to gain more distance to beat previous attempts. The challenge was for students to create a car with lifesavers that would run down a track and then modify their design to improve distance and speed. #HAL #WildcatEra #WashingtonOhana #Learning&Fun

This is GREAT because they're just in time for Spirit Day tomorrow and the Homecoming Parade tomorrow evening. We will have Spirit Day WEDNESDAY because we have the Homecoming Parade tomorrow evening. If you'd like to join us to walk in the Washington group, please arrive at 6:45 downtown. See the attached map. North Platte officially arrives downtown at 6:30 but you can show up at 6:45. Wear Washington gear or any red, white, and black you have! Wally will be there and ready to cheer on our Bulldogs to a victory!
