I can't believe that we're 36 days from starting Winter activities. Let's slow down and recognize what's been going on and what's coming up:
We'll start the ladies of the Diamonds. That had an awesome season going 25 -14. They wrapped up their season Thursday October 5th in Omaha going 1-2 at Districts. The Ladies jumped out with a first round win beating Lincoln Pius X 4-2, putting them into the semifinals playing the #1 seed Omaha Marian. What a game! The Ladies came up short losing 4-0. That put them in the bottom side of the bracket where it's win or go home. They were matched back up against Lincoln Pius X who they had played the day before. The ladies put themselves in a position to win, but lost 2-1. To watch the growth and maturity of this team through the season showed me that the older ladies have shown the up and comers how to practice, act and definitely how to WIN!
The athletes running the town (literally) have quietly dominated everywhere they've gone. The coaching staff has been training them for this upcoming week for 127 days. They head to Lincoln for the A-3 Cross country District race. The Ladies will run first at 2:30 and the Men run an hour later. Coach Hasenauer x2 and Burkey have done it all with this group. It's an awesome feeling knowing the direction of this program goes in the way of FAMILY! Good luck and Be fast!
The Cody Park Racketeers have been preparing for the upcoming week also. They head to Omaha to play in the Koch Family Tennis center for the State Championship. Coach Hall and Lehmer have definitely put in the miles this season to get the men the experience for them to bring home some hardware from Omaha. Good luck MEN!
Coach Kaminski and the Lady golf team have been out driving everyone this season. They put their skills on display last Tuesday October 4th at Lake Maloney Golf Course. They had 4 medalist in 10th place Hailey Mathews, 9th place Kaylee Carlson, 2nd place Abbie Jones and the District Champion Karsen Morrison. They didn't just have 4 medalists they were also the DISTRICT CHAMPS! They head to Norfolk Country club for the State tournament on Monday October 10th. It will be a two day tournament and I'm confident that they'll make some noise. Hit'em straight and long Ladies!
I don't know if you've "HEARD" that the band has been working their lips and feet off! Mr. Messner has constructed one heck of a group of musicians. They head to LPS Marching Festival on October 15 and NSBA State Marching on October 22. They have their work boots on and are marching into L- Town. Go Get'em guys!
We're going to take a step back in time and talk about the Fall play that was October 7th /8th in Blue Stockings. Director McDaniel FOLDED one heck of a production. To see what a positive attitude, work ethic and some awesome kids can do. I tip my hat to them all!
Now for the Queens of the court. They haven't spent much time on our home court this season, but it's time for them to wrap up their season with several home dates. We'll recognize the Seniors this Thursday night in the Doghouse against McCook. No reason to put away the net, we'll turn around and have a Triangular on Saturday against Sidney and Kearney Catholic. They'll wrap up the regular season on October 18th in the Doghouse against Ogallala at 7:00pm. Keep swinging ladies!
Now for the Boys of fall! Coach Altig and his staff have done some incredible things this season. The Dogs have a winning streak and are working towards adding to it. They knocked off number 1 Omaha Westside two weeks ago out on Bauer field. They then traveled to Lincoln last Friday night and rolled up Northeast. They have Norfolk Panthers coming to town on Friday at 7:00pm. Keep building the momentum men!
I'd like to send out a huge shoutout to Coach Madison Laurie Streeter, Cory Leggott, and everyone that has helped at any of the activities that we've had up to this point. I really believe that this place is awesome because of the people that I'm in contact with. Thank you guys!

Mrs Negley’s freshmen bulldog time is painting pumpkins today. Very cool to see the conversations and positive interactions.

Band members are present early this morning to ready themselves for state competition in the coming weeks.
