This morning all 9th grade students were introduced to the Kearney Bound Program. Kearney Bound is a scholarship and academic support initiative from the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) designed to help first-generation and low-income students achieve their college dreams. The program provides selected students with financial assistance covering tuition, and possibly fees, housing, and meals at UNK. This is to ensure they can focus on their education without financial barriers.
Beyond financial support, Kearney Bound offers mentorship, academic advising, and personal development opportunities to prepare students for college success. Participants must meet academic and behavioral expectations throughout high school to maintain eligibility. The program fosters a supportive community, encouraging students to excel academically and develop leadership skills.
For parents, this program is an excellent opportunity to help their child pursue higher education with strong support from UNK. If your student qualifies, Kearney Bound can be a life-changing pathway to a bright future!
Students will receive a link to the application in their GoogleClassroom on February 1st. For more information please visit: https://www.unk.edu/offices/loper-success-hub/KB/prospective_kb_students.php. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Amie Albrecht at aalbrecht@nppsd.org.
