District Employee of The Months - Recognition-Decorative

NPPS – Employees of the Month Recognized by the Board of Education

North Platte, Neb. – North Platte Public Schools recognized its August, September, and October employees of the month during the November board of education meeting. As the 2022 - 2023 school year began, it was evident that administrators would have difficulty selecting just one employee to celebrate each month, so the district adapted its protocols to recognize both certified and non-certified employees each month.

The newly adapted protocols allow the district to consider employees who are being recognized for their creative efforts, innovation, and dedication to the students and staff at the building level for the district recognition, stated Dr. Todd Rhodes at the November 14, 2022, NPPS Board of Education meeting. Rhodes added, ‘it is a pleasure to recognize these outstanding employees in a public setting. We look forward to celebrating future awardees each month.’

During the meeting, Rhodes recognized Adam Hoatson, McDonald Elementary, and Mayra Rodriguez, Buffalo Early Learning Center, for August; Alice Boyer, Adams Middle School, and Tina Mathieu, North Platte High School, for September; and Collin Swedberg and Ciera Andrews for October. Each awardee received recognition in their respective buildings, where sponsored gifts and a flower or beef stick arrangement from Prairie Friends and Flowers were awarded. The generous sponsors included North Platte Public Schools Foundation (August), Hub International (September), and Grandel’s Construction (October). Nominators shared brief statements about the recipients, which included some of the following information.

Because of her kind and welcoming spirit, Mayra easily forms and facilitates relationships at Buffalo. She does an outstanding job multitasking her daily tasks with the unknowns of supporting the early learning center. The students love her, and the staff relies on her trustfully and respectfully.

~Thank you, Mayra, and Congratulations!

Adam was nominated because of his contagious attitude toward physical education. From engaging, interactive lessons to new programs and activities, Mr. Hoatson goes above and beyond to make sure all students are involved during his time with them.

Tina’s willingness to support the NPHS homecoming dance and assistance in making the event memorable for students made her nomination float to the top of the pile. She enthusiastically spent the night on the dance floor with her students ensuring they did not miss any opportunity to experience all the event had to offer.

~Thank you, Tina, and Congratulations!

Leader, positive attitude, and creative, caring teacher sums up the submission made by Alice’s nominator. Her influence in education filters through the building at Adams creating an environment of success, fun, and engaging lessons for both students and teachers. She is noted to be a great colleague and an even better person.

~Thank you, Alice, and Congratulations!

Cieras flexibility and patience in meeting the needs of the students she works with bring calm to the classroom environment. This and her love for learning made her an easy choice for the October employee of the month nomination. Ciera is working toward a teaching degree at Chadron State College, and we hope to have her as a full-time teacher at NPPS very soon.

~Thank you, Ciera, and Congratulations!

A positive, caring, inclusive classroom environment, coupled with the many hours spent working with students, secured Collin Swedberg the nomination for October employee of the month. Mr. Swedberg continuously assists at events outside the classroom and his FFA responsibilities. He is a true Bulldog through and through, notes his nominator.

~Thank you, Collin, and Congratulations!
