We can finally say it is time to come back to school! Summer provides time for staff to recharge their batteries, but NPPS employees are always excited to come back and make a difference in the lives of students. North Platte Public Schools held a "District Welcome" at North Platte High School to officially welcome in the new year.
Staff gathered for breakfast in the morning, then moved to the Performing Arts Center where they heard the National Anthem performed by the Blue and Gold singers, directed by Leah Purdy. The anthem was followed by a series of important messages. Mrs. Terry Burchell presented on behalf of the NPPS Foundation, Interim Superintendent Dr. Virginia Moon introduced herself, Board of Education President Mrs. Emily Garrick delivered a message, and Dr. Josh Ray was the guest speaker. Dr. Ray shared what effective schools do differently, and how that applies to the mission of North Platte Public Schools working to become a destination school district.
Next, NPPS welcomes back students to the buildings. K-7th and 9th graders come back to school on Wednesday, August 12th, with the rest of the students beginning on the 13.
