Bobby Truhe presenting to NPPS Staff

It’s that time of year again, when freshly polished hallways and sparkling classrooms signal the start of a new school year. After a summer of hard work by maintenance and custodial staff, North Platte Public Schools are ready to welcome students back for another year of learning.

To kick things off, NPPS hosted its annual District Welcome at North Platte High School, an event shaped by input from staff across the district. After a delicious breakfast from Sodexo, the program began with a performance of the National Anthem by the Blue and Gold Singers. NPPS then celebrated the honorees for Staff of the Year during the NPPSD Foundation report, learned about the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan from Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Rhodes, heard a message from NPPS Board of Education President Emily Garrick, and were introduced to new Associate Superintendent Dr. Damon McDonald. The morning wrapped up with insights on legal perspectives in education, presented by KSB Law’s Mr. Bobby Truhe.

It was a great morning with everyone back together, and a big shoutout to the NPPS Technology Department for all their work making sure everything ran smoothly. We are going to have a great 2025/2026 school year!
