Osgood Elementary

This year in Art, all classes are creating projects that require a process. I incorporate Art History, other artists, cross-curricular learning (i.e. 4th Grade learns about Nebraska History & the Native Americans so we learn about their way of life & do a unit on Weaving) & a lot of thinking outside the box. I personally love realistic drawings but enjoy teaching students that not all art is “perfect” or has to look like a photograph to be good. Opening their minds to abstract art & different mediums to bring to life their own personal creative juices is what I love best about my job! I love seeing what students can create with a little direction, especially when they don’t think they’re “artistic”. Everyone is an artist!
