The Chess Club will meet right after school today, Oct. 11th in room 1303. Even if you can't stay today, stop by and let Mr. Seybold know that you are interested.



Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet in the Dawg Pound tomorrow, Oct. 12th at 8:00 pm for games, snacks, and a fun time hanging out.  Be sure to join us!


There will be a Pre Med Club meeting at the High School on Thursday, Oct. 13th at 7pm. 




There will be an INFORMATIVE meeting for the Speech Team on Thursday, Oct 13th after school in the Career Center.  Let us PERSUADE you to become a part of our organization.  We promise fun ENTERTAINMENT that will not be too SERIOUS.  See Mr. King if you have questions.


Have you ever wondered how much you can bench press?  Ever thought about being in the World's Strongest Man contest?  The North Platte High School Powerlifting Team might be just the thing for you!  There will be a brief meeting in the weight room on Monday, October 17th at 3:45pm with Coach Arttie Parker for both male and female athletes!  If you are interested, and are not competing in a Winter Sport, come see what Powerlifting is all about! 


Attention creative people: the Art Department is hosting a tiny art display beginning Tuesday, October 25th.  Enter any artwork, any medium, any skill level, as long as it is 4"x6" or smaller.  All artwork must be school appropriate, signed, and original.  You do not have to  be an art student to enter artwork...staff is welcome as well!  Come see us if you need sticky notes or other small paper to work on.  Entries due Monday, October 24th.  See Mrs. DeVoe or Mrs. Mason with questions.


Don't forget, the Healthy High School National Challenge is in full swing and you can help our school win the $5,000 top prize by purchasing combo meals in the cafeteria, healthy snacks or beverages on the challenge list.  Don't let our school down.

Senior Punch Card:

  • Seniors who complete the punch card will receive a free t-shirt and be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card. 
  • The BDT class with the most punch cards returned to us by December 1st will receive a breakfast party (your choice of breakfast).

Senior T-Shirt Design Competition:

  • Seniors who have an image for the senior t-shirt can send it to me by Oct. 12th and I will put together a google form for voting.
  • The design that wins, the student will receive a $25 gift card of their choice.


ATTENTION SENIORS:   MidWest Grads will be here on Wednesday, November 2nd during lunches from 10:30am - 1:00pm in the Commons to take your graduation orders.    Watch the announcements for more information to come or see Mrs. Schumacher in the Counselor's Office if you have questions.  


Seniors: The local scholarships are available!  Stop by the Counselor's Office to pick up the scholarship applications that you may qualify for.  These scholarships are listed in your scholarship booklet and can also be found and printed from our high school webpage, NPHS Counselor's Corner.   Completed scholarship applications are due to the Counselor's Office by Friday, Dec. 16th!

Interested in attending a college presentation?  See Mrs. Schumacher in the Counselor's Office to sign up!  Representatives will be visiting the North Platte High School Career Center on the following dates:   Creighton College - Wednesday, Oct. 12th @ 10:30am, University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) - Tuesday, October 18th @ 11:30am and Mid Plains Community College - Tuesday, Nov. 9th @ 9:00am 


Juniors and Seniors, are you interested in finding out what UNK has to offer? Come join us for a visit to the UNK campus on Wednesday, Nov. 9th.  Sign up sheet is in the counselor's office.

Please excuse the following National Honor Society students today, October 11th from 12:30-3:30pm to volunteer at the mobile food pantry: Savannah Stefanatz, Gabe Jenny, Kaden Gilbert, Makenna Snider, Drue Russell, Chantel Vargas, Owen Koehn, Josh SanMiguel, Kadence Dowhower, Samantha Bales, Kaitlyn Aden, Jenessa Arnold. They will need to eat "A" lunch.

Please excuse the following Freshman Volleyball Team Members from class for their game at McCook today, Oct. 11th. They will need to be dismissed from class at 2:30pm and the bus will leave at 3:00pm:  Colbie Baade, Kate Kautz, Merci Koontz, Elexis Lantis, Ava Franzen, Addie Purdy, Tenni Still, Myiah Thramer, Whitney Wehr, Kori McClain

Please dismiss the students attending the NHSTA Master Class in the PAC this morning.  These students need to be dismissed at 9:45am and will be with us in the theater until the end of 2nd period.  All of these students should be back in their 3rd period classes!
