Are you interested in trying out for the NPHS Varsity Cheer team?  If so, there will be an informational meeting tonight, March 8th, at 7:00 p.m. in room 2201.  Practices will begin March 14th, with tryouts being held on Wednesday, March 23rd after school.  Pick up a tryout packet in the Activities Office.  If you have any questions, please contact Nicole Bruck at nbruck@nppsd.org or Andrea Hayes at ahayes@nppsd.org.


Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet tomorrow, March 9th at 8 pm in the Dawg Pound.  Come join us for fun games and engaging conversations.  If you have been involved in FCA at all in your high school career, we need your help, Wednesday, March 9th for a special project.  We will meet in the commons at 8:00 pm! Be there!


The High School Support Group will meet tomorrow, March 9th at 2:30pm in room 1205.  See you there!



FRESHMAN: The deadline for Kearney Bound applications has been extended to Monday,  March 14th.  If you have questions about the application or whether you would be a eligible candidate please see your counselor.


Tamina Hartman and Sandra Mejia are organizing a trip to Europe in June 2023.  We will travel throughout various parts of France and Spain.  This is a great opportunity to see new places and practice speaking another language!  There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, March 16th at 6:30pm in room 2308 at the high school.  If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Hartman or Mejia.


Do you have the knowledge and skills in art, autos, business, electrical technology, math, the medical field, music, science, welding, and/or writing that you KNOW you could compete and win? Come join us at Mid Plains Inter High day to show off your mad skills! Sign up in the counseling office to qualify.


Are you interested in attending UNK? Would you like a chance to see the campus? On Wednesday, March 23rd you can join us on a college visit to UNK! Please sign up in the counseling office by March 9th. Space is limited. 


Just a reminder to stop by Mrs. McDaniel's room if you are interested in auditioning for the spring play.  Auditions are March 24th and 25th. Stop into 2408 and grab a packet!


Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)  – The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is awarded annually to a current sophomore or junior in the high school who have demonstrated leadership in school, community or place of worship.  As a RYLA recipient, the students attend an all expenses paid, five-night conference (July 12 – July 17, 2022) in the beautiful Nebraska National Forest near Halsey, Nebraska, about 80 miles north of North Platte.  This camp brings together a special group of young men and women to share ideas about becoming better leaders.   Applications can be found at  https://greatplainsryla.org/apply  and must be submitted on-line no later than March 31, 2022.  See Mrs. Horne in the Counselor's Office for more information.


Attention Seniors: If you have received a scholarship or award, and would like it recognized at Senior Awards Night on Wednesday, April 20th and printed in the commencement program, please email or bring a copy of your notification to Mrs. Schumacher in the Counselor's Office by Friday, April 8th.  (All scholarships can be turned in for recognition even if you don't plan on attending the college that awarded the scholarship but grants or loans will be included.)

 Please excuse the following National Honor Society students today, March 8th from 12:30-3:30 to volunteer at the mobile food pantry: Jaden Ouderkirk, Kadence Dowhower, Kaden Gilbert, Bennett Magnuson, Torie Laubenstein, Breah Matuszczak, Thomas Ramsey, Drew Carlson, Juliana Ortiz, Jenessa Arnold, Sierra Cain. They will need to eat "A" lunch.                            

                          

Interested in attending a college presentation?  See Mrs. Schumacher in the Counselor's Office to sign up!  Representatives will be visiting North Platte High School Career Center on the following dates:    Mid Plains Community College - Tuesday, March 15th @ 10:30am and University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) - Monday, March 28th @ 9:30am
