Happy FFA Week! Today is Western Wednesday, so if you dressed in your best western wear make sure to send a picture to Mrs. Craig or Mr. Swedberg for another chance to win! Tomorrow is our last day and the theme is blue and gold, so make sure to dress up for your final chance to win!


For all GIRLS interested in trying out for soccer....there will be an informational meeting today, February 23rd after school in Mrs. Kaminski's room 1304.  This meeting is mandatory as you will receive all information required to tryout.  If you cannot attend please see Mrs. Kaminski.



Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet tonight, March 23rd at 8 pm in the Dawg Pound.  Come join us for fun games and engaging conversations.  



For all GIRLS interested in going out for track and field....there will be a sign-up meeting today, February 23rd after school in the Career Center.  This meeting is mandatory for all girls wanting to be on the team. If you cannot make it see Coach Lloyd in Room 2109. 


The High School Support Group will meet today, February 23rd at 2:30pm in room 1205.  Hope to see you there!



In celebration of our BULLDOGS SWIM & DIVE MEMBERS QUALIFYING for the NSAA Class A State Championships, we will be sending them off tomorrow (2.24.22) at 10:05 AM We ask that teachers ESCORT your class to the commons area at the end of 1st block at 10:00 AM. Please work to line the sendoff route around the outside of  the commons.  Please note that Pep Band, Cheer, Pacers, and the swim and dive state qualifiers will be dismissed ahead of this time in preparation for this. 


Attention Artists! Our 26th Annual All Area High School Art Exhibit is coming up next week, and we need your beautiful creations! This is open to any current or past art student, and whether you made something in art class or on your own, we want it! Bring them in to Mrs. DeVoe or Mrs. Mason by tomorrow, February 24th. The exhibit will be on display at the Prairie Arts Center March 1st through the 12th, and awards will be on display at the reception that is on Saturday, March 5th at 1:00 pm.


Unified Track will have a quick meeting at 3:30 in the commons tomorrow, February 24th, for anyone interested in participating this season.



Join us for a "Wild Night"!   Students 9-12th grade are invited attend Wild Bills on Monday, Feb. 28th from 5:00 - 8:00pm for free laser tag, bowling and pizza .  There will also be an Airpod raffle and other giveaways.  This event is being put on by WIC/Family planning.   Hope to see you there!!


Student Council's annual MORP Dance will be held next Friday, March 4th. The theme is Teen Beach Movie: Surfers vs Bikers!  On the night of the dance, Seniors & Sophomores will dress up as surfers and Juniors & Freshmen will dress up as Bikers.  Please refer to the fliers around the school for direction on attire.  TWIRP week is also next week and fits in with the MORP theme.  Date night suggestions for TWIRP Week, where The Woman Is Requested to Pay, are as follows:

Monday – Milkshakes & Minecraft

Tuesday – Tenders & Teen Beach Movie

Wednesday – Wings & Wordle

Thursday – Thin Mints & a Thriller Movie

Friday – Dinner & Dance

Doors for the dance will open at 8:00pm, and the dance will end at 11:00pm. Bring your ID and pay at the door!!! Cost is only $5.00! Student Council thanks you!  Guest Permits for the MORP Dance are still available in the Main Office from Mrs. Persinger. The deadline for turning in the permits will be Monday, February 28th.  Please remember that even mid-year grads will need to be invited by a current student and complete a guest form.

Tamina Hartman and Sandra Mejia are organizing a trip to Europe in June 2023.  We will travel throughout various parts of France and Spain.  This is a great opportunity to see new places and practice speaking another language!  There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, March 16th at 6:30pm in room 2308 at the high school.  If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Hartman or Mejia.


Are you interested in attending UNK? Would you like a chance to see the campus? On Wednesday, March 23rd you can join us on a college visit to UNK! Please sign up in the counseling office by March 9th. Space is limited. 


Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)  – The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is awarded annually to a current sophomore or junior in the high school who have demonstrated leadership in school, community or place of worship.  As a RYLA recipient, the students attend an all expenses paid, five-night conference (July 12 – July 17, 2022) in the beautiful Nebraska National Forest near Halsey, Nebraska, about 80 miles north of North Platte.  This camp brings together a special group of young men and women to share ideas about becoming better leaders.   Applications can be found at  https://greatplainsryla.org/apply  and must be submitted on-line no later than March 31, 2022.  See Mrs. Horne in the Counselor's Office for more information.
