NPHS faculty and staff would like to welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year. 

If you were unable to attend picture days , we will have picture retakes TODAY, the 13th for Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students. These will be important as your photo ID is going to be generated from this new photo.

Tryouts for the fall play, Long Joan Silver, will be held at 3:45pm today, Aug. 13th and tomorrow, Aug. 14th in Mrs. McDaniel's room 1403.  This swashbucklingly ridiculous show has parts of all shapes and sizes and we also need backstage crew members.  Stop by or email Mrs. McDaniel for more information. 

Anyone interested in doing a fall sport must have everything in by tomorrow, August 14th. We will not accept anything after this date. 

This year we are starting a new fundraiser for the NPHS Speech Team. We will be auctioning off six prime parking spots. You may have seen these spots in the parking lot. (designated #1-6) These spots will be available only to the raffle winners for the entire semester. This means that we will have 2 chances to win a dedicated parking space to be used at your convenience each year! This opportunity is available to All High School Students and Staff! Tickets will be sold at $5 for one chance and $20 for 5. See your nearest NPHS Speech team member for your chance to win one of these cozy and convenient spaces for your car while supporting your NPHS Speech Team! Winners will be announced on September 04, 2027.

FCCLA will be having their Welcome Back meeting on Aug 18 after school in rm 2403. Come check us out. 

Ready for an Adventure? Join the Dungeons & Dragons Club! Calling all adventurers, heroes, and storytellers! Whether you're a seasoned Dungeon Master, an experienced player, or completely new to tabletop role-playing games, all students are welcome to join the Dungeons & Dragons Club!

First Meeting: Tuesday, August 18th

Time: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Location: Room 1204

Roll the dice, create your hero, and embark on epic quests with us. Bring your imagination—we’ll supply the fun! We hope to see you there!

Make Your Move—Join Chess Club! Looking to sharpen your mind, learn new strategies, or just enjoy a fun game of chess with friends? The Chess Club is open to all students of all skill levels—from complete beginners learning how the pieces move to experienced strategy players!

First Meeting: Monday, August 17th

Time: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Location: Room 1204

Come learn, play, and challenge your peers in a fun and welcoming environment. Check it out and bring a friend!

3. Future Business Leaders of America Build Your Future—Join FBLA! Are you an aspiring entrepreneur, or do you simply want to gain leadership skills, learn more about business, and prepare for your future career? FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) offers something for everyone!

First Meeting: Friday, August 14th

Time: 3:45 PM

Location: Room 1204

All students are invited to come see what FBLA is all about, connect with peers, and explore exciting opportunities. All are welcome—come join us for our first meeting!

4. Help NPHS Go Green—Aluminum Recycling is Back! FBLA is excited to launch our new "Go Green" project and bring aluminum recycling back to North Platte High School! We need your help to make our school cleaner and more sustainable.

Where to recycle your empty aluminum cans:

**In the Pods: Green recycling bins are located in the center of each pod.

**In the Cafeteria: Blue recycling bins are located at both ends of the cafeteria.

Important Reminder: Please place ONLY empty aluminum cans in these recycling bins. Do NOT put trash, food, or other waste in any of the recycling bins. Thank you for your help and participation in keeping NPHS green!

Any students that are interested in learning more about or participating in Mock Trial, please join us on Tuesday, August 18 directly after school at 3:30pm in room 2107 for a brief informational meeting. 

All 9-12 students will report TODAY, the 13th of August at 8:00 a.m. and will be dismissed at 3:25pm.
