NPHS faculty and staff would like to welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year.
If you were unable to attend picture days , we will have picture retakes on the 12th of August for Freshmen and the 13th for Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students. These will be important as your photo ID is going to be generated from this new photo.
School starts for freshmen on the 12th of August at 8:00 a.m and is an early release day. Students will be done at 2:20 p.m.
All 9-12 students will report on the 13th of August at 8:00 a.m. and will be dismissed at 3:25pm.
Below are a few reminders from our principal. Keep an eye out for important communication e-mails from Mr. Spotanski throughout the school year.
Lockers:
During the 2026–2027 school year, each student at NPHS will be assigned a locker. Students will not be permitted to carry backpacks or other bags from class to class. Upon arriving, students must store their backpack, coat, and other personal belongings in their assigned locker and carry only the materials needed for their next classes. Students are issued a Chromebook bag when they check out their device. This is the only bag permitted during the school day.
Physical Education staff will supervise the locker rooms from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. each morning, allowing students to store athletic bags, PE clothing, and related items in their assigned PE lockers.
Students must provide a padlock for their assigned hallway locker on the first day of school. Lockers that are not secured with a lock will be temporarily zip-tied until a lock is provided. Students enrolled in Physical Education classes or participating in school athletics will be assigned both a lock and locker for the locker room. These lockers are intended to secure personal belongings when students are not present.
North Platte High School is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items stored within student lockers..
Electronic Devices:
The North Platte Public Schools Board of Education has adopted Policy 6025 in response to guidance provided by the Nebraska Legislature through Legislative Bill 140. This policy prohibits students from using or possessing cellular phones and other personal electronic communication devices during school hours. An electronic communication device is defined as any device that transmits writing, sound, images, or data electronically. Examples include, but are not limited to, cell phones, AirPods, smartwatches, personally owned tablets, gaming devices, meta glasses, and similar electronic devices.
At North Platte High School, students may not use or possess personal electronic devices during the school day. Any student found in possession of a cellular phone or other electronic device during school hours is in violation of Board Policy 6025 and the NPHS Student Code of Conduct.
Confiscated devices may only be picked up by a parent or legal guardian during office hours (7:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.). Prior to the device being returned, administration will review the policy violation and expectations with the parent or guardian.
With backpacks not traveling around the building, there is an additional option this year. So, to avoid disciplinary consequences, we encourage families to discuss the following options with their student:
*Leave electronic devices at home.
*Leave electronic devices in their vehicle.
*Leave your device secured in your locker.
*Check devices in with their Bulldog Time teacher at the beginning of
the school day and retrieve them at the end of the day.
Devices checked in through this process will be securely
stored.
Our goal is to create an environment that maximizes student engagement, learning, positive interactions, and safety throughout the school day. We appreciate your support and partnership as we implement this expectation.
