A friendly hello from your yearbook staff!   Just a heads up that you only have 2 more weeks left to order your yearbooks and senior ads! Do you want an ad for your bestie? Your sister? Next week is National FFA Week and our FFA chapter will be celebrating schoolwide with theme days and Bulldog Time Trivia! Each day you dress up, you will have a chance to win a gift card to some your favorite restaurants in town. The themes are as follows:

  • Today, Feb. 21st - Stationed by the Ear of Corn (husker apparel)
  • Tomorrow, Feb. 22nd - Stationed by the Flag (red, white and blue)
  • Friday, Feb. 23rd - FFA Day (blue & gold)


Attention all girls planning to play soccer this spring...We will have a mandatory sign up meeting today, Feb. 21st at 2:25pm in Mrs. Kaminski's room 1304 to go over all requirements for girls soccer!  It will be a short meeting but we will hand out necessary paperwork. Please see Mrs. Kaminski if you cannot attend.





Come join Fellowship of Christian Athletes tonight, Feb. 21st at 8:00 p.m. in the Dawg Pound for games, snacks and great conversation about motivation and goal setting.  Whether you are a team athlete or love to put in miles or weights by yourself, FCA has a place for you!






There will be a brief Mandatory Baseball meeting for those interested in trying-out for the High School Baseball team in Mr. Condon's room (1204) at 2:30pm today, February 21st.






Reminder: There will be an informational meeting tomorrow night, Feb. 22nd at 6:30pm in room 2307 for those interested in going on the Costa Rica Trip. 





Tomorrow, Feb. 22nd, there will be an informational and sign up meeting for any girls interested in going out for track and field in Mr. Swedberg's room right after school. If you are unable to attend. Either see Coach Swedberg or email Coach Burkey for information. Go Dawgs






The Gaming Club meets every Friday from 3:30- 5:00pm, unless we do not have school. Hope to see you there!







The first ever North Platte Chess Tournament will be held this Saturday, Feb 24th. It is open to all North Platte High School students. Winner of the tournament will receive a very nice custom Chess board with playing set. Anyone interested in competing see Mr. Seybold in Room 1205 ASAP to enter and further details. Triple elimination and no entry fee. Come show off your Chess skills. Brackets are filling fast.





FCS Club will be meeting on Monday, Feb 26th to design some rooms.  We will meet in room 2517 at 6:30pm.  There will be snacks. 






SWEET AFFAIR OF THE ARTS - Hey Bulldogs, are you interested in supporting your local fine arts friends??? Are you tired of the same old Middle School two-step, Griddy, or W-Step??? Come on out to the High School Commons on Tuesday, February 27th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and see some live performances, student art, purchase student made crafts, and sample some dessert! NEW this year, students and parents are invited to join us from 7:00-8:00 PM as Robert and Christine Nelson lead a beginner Swing Dance class just in time for you to swing it up at the Sock Hop! There will be a $5 cover charge at the door and items for sale on sight. We hope to see you there!






 Sock Hop Dance will be held on Friday, March 1st from 8:00-11:00 PM

  • Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.00 
  • Guest passed are now available from Mrs. Persinger in the Main Office. All fees and fines must be paid in order to pick up a form. 
  • Guest forms are due back no later than Wednesday, Feb. 28th @ 3:00 PM 



Sophomores & Juniors! Are you curious about what the University of Nebraska in Kearney has to offer? Do you want to check out their campus and see if UNK is the right fit for you? Come join us for a college visit on March 20th!  Sign up in the counseling office by March 12th.




Juniors! Are you a leader? Are you interested in government, politics, and good citizenship? Do you like to connect with other like-minded leaders? Girls' and Boys' State is an event just for YOU! Girls' and Boys' state takes place June 2-8 in Lincoln. If you would like to know more, please see Mrs. Quiroz in the counseling office. 





Reminder:  Dual Credit representatives will be in the Counselor's Office Conference Room every Monday for the rest of the year from 8:00am - Noon.  Be sure to see them if you have any questions about your Dual Credit classes.   In addition to dual credit help, MPCC representatives can help you with general college advising such as seeing if your dual credit college credits transfer to in-state and out of state colleges, seeing if a college offers a program you are interested in, and more.
