Interested in joining a new club?  There will be a short meeting for those interested in joining the new Gaming Club today, Feb. 2nd right after school in room 2304.  Hope to see you there!

Students!  Do you like competition? Do you like to share your skills with others who have the same interests? Do you like to show off what you know? Mid Plains Inter-High Day is the event for YOU! Inter High Day is a fun filled day where high schools get together to test and showcase their skills and knowledge of the different academic, artistic, and technical/trade topics. You will also have a chance to earn scholarships and awards! These competitions are open to ALL grade levels, so it is a fun opportunity for YOU to learn more about the skills YOU love. The event is all day February 22nd at MPCC.   If you are interested, find Mrs. Quiroz in the Counseling Office to learn more by Monday, February 5th!

On February 8th, we will be hosting the first of the two spring parent-teacher conference events at North Platte High School. We hope you come up to the school to discuss your child’s education with their teachers.

Our counseling team has organized some additional information and presentations for the evening. Our goal is to create an evening that will inform parents and students about current courses and help plan for the future. The event will begin at 4:30 pm and wrap up at 8:00 pm sharp.

Counselor events for sophomore and junior families:

  • Sophomore Steps to College: Come learn what steps sophomores can be taking now to help them prepare for college as they prepare for their junior and senior years. Sessions will be 30 minutes long and start at 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm.

  • Junior Steps to College: Come learn what next steps juniors should be taking to make their senior year purposeful and successful as they plan for life after high school. Sessions will be 30 minutes long and start at 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm.

In addition, our counselors are available to answer any questions you may have regarding signing up your student to take the ACT test. They have resources to share with you in their office area on the second floor.

The last spring date for parent teacher conferences is April 18th from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m.

The North Platte High Student Council is hosting a Valentine’s Day opportunity.  For $1, Students can have a bouquet of suckers sent to someone with the message, "I'm a Sucker for you."  Student council members will be taking orders during all 4 lunches starting Monday the 5th, and ending the following Tuesday, the 13th.  Bouquets will be delivered on Wednesday, Feb. 14th during 1st and 2nd period.
