Lincoln Elementary | Title I
My name is Katie Pacheco. I graduated from North Platte High School in 1999. I earned my
bachelor’s degree in education from The University of Nebraska at Kearney with degrees in both
regular education and special education. I also earned my master’s degree from Doane college in
curriculum and instruction. I am currently working on my master’s degree endorsement as a reading
I am married to Mitch who works for UPS. We have 2 daughters. Madison is 20 and Emilee
is 10. We also have a granddaughter, Bella who is 1. Our family also includes two dogs, Will and
Ruby, that we also consider our “children.”
I am in my fourteenth year of teaching and have spent the last seven years teaching title 1
reading at Lincoln Elementary. Prior to teaching title 1 reading, I taught special education at
Washington Elementary. What I enjoy the most about my job is that I get to teach all grade levels of
students. Teaching young kids to read has really become my passion.
I believe that building relationships with students is imperative for learning to take place. I
make certain that my classroom is supportive and safe to give students the best opportunities as
possible. I always want students to know how important education is and that it is something no one
can ever take away from you.
