Jefferson Elementary | Second Grade
My name is Colleen Hodges. I was born in Pocatello, Idaho and lived there for 13 years. We moved to North Platte when I was 13. I attended Adams Middle School and graduated from North Platte High School in 1994. I graduated with my Associates of Science Degree from Mid-Plains Community College. I then went to Chadron, where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Early Childhood. After Chadron, I attended Doane College where I graduated with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am currently a 2nd grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary. I taught third grade for 9 years. This is my 10th year of teaching at Jefferson. Before I began teaching I was a Behavior Para at Jefferson and a substitute teacher for NPPS.
I have three children. Brooke, who attended NPPS and is currently a student at Mid-Plains Community College and is going into nursing. Joshua and Jonathan will be freshmen and attend North Platte High School.
I believe that building relationships with my students and their families is key to having a successful school year. Each child brings something unique to the classroom and I love to see how they grow as a person and as a learner throughout the year. Each school year I add to my family, because as a teacher I view them as my own kids and I will do whatever I can to help them be successful!
