When he retired in 2015, he moved back to Nebraska with his son Aden, who is now an 18 year old Senior at NPHS. In his off time, Mr. Reed enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, golf, sports, and hanging out with Aden. Since retirement Mr. Reed spent one year as a Diesel Engine Electrician at Union Pacific, two years as the Engage teacher at Adams Middle School, and is in his second year of being a Career Coach at NPHS.
Mr. Reed believes that attitude is everything, and that you can’t be a productive member of society without exhibiting respect and true tolerance. His goal is to help students understand what is meant by “whole person concept.” Students must understand that they are not just represented by their grades; rather, they are represented by a combination of every action they take and the words they share with the world, whether typed, spoken, or written. He feels that once each student understands these concepts, they will have a head start to becoming college and career ready individuals prepared to make positive contributions to society.
