North Platte High School | Science
My name is Angie Petersen. I am originally from West Point, NE and graduated from West Point Central Catholic High School. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College in Biology. I continued my education, and received a Master’s degree from Chadron State College and my teaching certification from University of Nebraska at Kearney.
I am married to Brandon Petersen, who teaches a variety of technology classes at North Platte High School. Our daughter Madalyn is a student in the North Platte Public Schools system and loves learning. We enjoy spending time together and enjoying many different activities.
Prior to teaching I was a research technologist for the University of Nebraska at the West Central Research and Extension Center for many years. I also teach as an adjunct faculty member for Mid-Plains Community College. I enjoy sharing my passion for science and the world around us to students of all ages.
I have been teaching 8th grade science at Adams Middle School since 2014. I enjoy meeting and getting to know so many amazing individuals in our community. I enjoy sharing my love of science and learning. We want to prepare students for success in high school and beyond, and provide them opportunities to be successful, in both school and the community. We believe in collaboration between subject areas, but also with the community as a whole. I want to provide a fun, supportive, respectful environment for all students; and for students to be open to new opportunities and knowledge.
