Lincoln Elementary | Fourth Grade
My name is Jamie Hernandez. I am from North Platte, born and raised. I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education, K-6 and a minor in Spanish. I started subbing right away when I graduated as it was in the middle of the school year. I then taught 2nd grade in Kearney for quite a few years. Then, I decided to try something different and started teaching high school Spanish at Kearney High School for a couple of years. After the passing of my father in 2008, I decided to move back to North Platte to be closer to my family. I Subbed for a little while before getting a full time job at Jefferson Elementary teaching 4th grade. I have been at Jefferson Elementary for 4 years now.
I am married and have 5 sons. My husband, Greg works at Coors Distributing. I have 2 stepsons Ethan and Eli, that live in Missouri. Braiden, a junior at North Platte High School, Jaylan, an 8th grader at Adams Middle School, and Maddux, a 1st grader at Jefferson Elementary. I enjoy watching my sons’ play all kinds of sports.
