Jefferson Elementary | Third Grade
Mother Teresa once said, “Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.” I believe this is a teacher’s mission statement.
Hello, my name is Melissa (Missy) Palacios, and I am a teacher at Jefferson Elementary. I fell in love with teaching at an early age, while watching my mother, who is in her 39th year of teaching, along with many wonderful educators I got the privilege of observing throughout my continuing educational journey. This is my sixth year of teaching at Jefferson, and my fourth year with third grade. Prior to teaching third, I taught fourth grade for two years.
A little about me: I am originally from Maxwell, Nebraska, and graduated from Maxwell High School in 2004. I attended McCook Community College and North Platte Community College, where I received my Associate of Arts degree. I then attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney, but received my Bachelor’s Degree in education from Chadron State College. I have one child named Miles, who is a second grader, and the greatest gift I have ever been given!
I married my husband and best friend, Tyler, in March of 2018, after over 8 years of dating! Every day gets better and better!
I love my career, and I love my family. That’s about all there is to know about me!
