Email Director of Special Education

I am Peggy Romshek, and I have been the Special Education Director at North Platte Public Schools since the fall of 2016. I am extremely proud of the special education program at North Platte Public Schools. North Platte Public Schools has a wonderful special education staff that strives to provide quality services for students with disabilities to ensure that ALL students make progress. We are constantly striving to meet the needs of students and keep improving in the services we provide.

As the Special Education Director for North Platte Public Schools, I strongly believe that we need to have high standards for ALL students, including those with disabilities It is also our responsibility to work to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities and to provide quality services possible in collaboration with parents. It is my desire to see that all students identified as needing special education services make as much progress as possible so that they can be caring respectful citizens after graduating from North Platte Public Schools.

In my previous experience, I supervised I helped to start and supervise two preschool programs that were in collaboration with Head Start. Since coming to North Platte, I have been involved with helping to provide direction and guidance to the preschool program in order to meet the needs of all students and give them a great start to their education. I firmly believe that giving students a great preschool experience will be beneficial to giving them a great foundation to be successful in life. I am excited that my office will be at the Buffalo Early Learning Center this year, and that I will help to oversee the Bullpup Preschool. The Buffalo Early Learning Center will be a great place for students to begin their educational experiences with North Platte Public Schools.
