We hope you are having an enjoyable holiday break and getting the much-needed rest and relaxation you all deserve.
As many of you are aware, North Platte Public Schools (NPPS) has been working with state and local health officials to coordinate the dissemination of the COVID-19 vaccination.
At this time, we are pleased to announce January 15, 2021, and February 12, 2021, as vaccination dates for NPPS employees. These two dates are now designated as vaccination/ teacher workdays. On these two dates, we will not have school or after-school programs for our students. We ask that families take time now to prepare for alternate care for their students.

Options to discontinue quarantine:
● Quarantine may discontinue without testing under the following conditions:
o At least ten (10) days have passed since close contact exposure AND
o No COVID-19 symptoms have developed and the person self-monitors for COVID-19 symptoms and wears a facial covering through day 14 since last close contact.
● Quarantine may discontinue with testing under the following conditions:
o At least seven (7) days have passed since close contact exposure, no COVID-19 symptoms have developed AND
o Results of a diagnostic specimen test (molecular or antigen) is negative that was collected no earlier than five (5) days since last close contact exposure AND
o The person self-monitors for COVID-19 symptoms and wears a facial covering through day 14 since last close contact.
*Any student or staff currently in quarantine will transition to the guidelines above.

Extended Thanksgiving Break - NPPS has extended Thanksgiving break for the entire week of November 23rd. Classes will resume as scheduled on Monday, November 30, 2020.
UPDATE – 10-29-20
The District has UPDATED our Return To School Plan, Playbook, and Resources click the COVID-19 Resources tab in the Quicklinks below. Students, Staff, and the district will operate in the orange category guidelines if the community risk dial moves to red. If NPPS, WCDHD, and NDE determine that in-person learning is not safe due to the spread of the coronavirus, classrooms, schools, and/or the district will close and resort to remote learning as a safe alternative. More detailed information will be provided if we resort to remote learning. Update = Face-Coverings will be worn by all students, staff, and approved visitors through the end of December 2020. The district will re-evaluate the status of the COVID-19 spread prior to January 6, 2021. Plans are adjusted according to CDC Guidelines, State Directed Health Measures, and Guidance provided by the Governor and Commissioner of Education and the West Central District Health Department, as well as Health Agencies. Information changes on a weekly basis so please check back frequently for updates. The District will continue to focus on keeping our students and staff safe and keeping our school operating. Return to School Plans will be adjusted in a timely manner to accomplish the desired outcomes.
