Adams Middle School | Art
My name is Emily Garrick and I'm the 8th grade Art Teacher at Adams Middle School. I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors of Arts in Education (K-12 Art Education) from the University of Nebraska - Kearney. I am originally from Kansas, went to high school and graduated from McCook, Nebraska and after several years into my professional career, I settled down here in North Platte to be with my now husband, Brad (We just got married June 2018!) I come from a family of teachers with my mom, my sister, and several other relatives involved in education.
Outside of school, you can usually find me at the MMA gym we run, working in my many flower gardens at home, or playing with my two dogs. In addition to teaching Art at Adams, I teach a Graphic Design course at the college and enjoy doing videography work with my husband on the weekends. Pretty much anything creative, I love doing!
I have really enjoyed working with middle school students and particularly love teaching art because it enables me to get to know my students, teach them problem solving skills, self expression, and so much more! I'm looking forward to another great year at Adams Middle School!
