North Platte High School | Math
I have several years of experience in the field of mathematics and have completed a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with endorsements in business administration, bachelor’s degree in education, three masters degrees in mathematics and another in educational technology and my last one in 7 – 12 administration. I earned all of those degrees from Chadron State College. For those of you that want to know, I like learning. I am completing my doctorate in educational leadership through the University of Wyoming, I will complete the superintendent portion of the program in the spring of 2017 and should finish the doctorate in Fall of 2019. Unbelievably I only have a few more years to go!
I have taught in the mathematics department at North Platte High School since 2006. However, over the last twenty years I have worked with the North Platte Speech/Debate/Theater team as a judge, tournament assistant, and assistant coach and head coach and director. I have created several pieces of software that have been used to assist in the running of Speech/Debate Tournaments for North Platte and surrounding schools. I have taught programming as part of my courses for North Platte High School. I currently teach standards math, college algebra, trigonometry, statistics and calculus. I am an adjunct instructor for Chadron State College and for Mid-Plains Community College.
As for my personal life my wife and I have been working in education in North Platte for many years. My wife, Emily, is an elementary teacher and enjoys every minute she has with her students. We love to spend time with friends and family and enjoy our summers working in our flower beds and remodeling our house. We have two children Allie and Isaac. They occupy a lot of our time and we enjoy every minute about it.
