Eisenhower Elementary | Third Grade
Hello, my name is Emily Cooper. North Platte has been my home since I was 1 year old, and I couldn’t imagine a better place to live, teach, and raise my own kids! I attended Eisenhower Elementary, Adams Middle School, and North Platte High School, graduating in 2003. In the fall of 2003, I began my college journey at The University of Nebraska at Kearney. I enjoyed college immensely and learned so much! My senior year, I was able to come back to North Platte and student teach at Eisenhower in 2nd grade. I graduated in the spring of 2007, was hired by North Platte Public Schools, and began teaching 2nd grade that fall. This year will mark my 10th year of teaching--and all 10 of those years at Eisenhower! I have taught 2nd grade, a year of 1st grade, and I am currently in my second year of 3rd grade. Each grade has presented new adventures, amazing students, and memories to last a lifetime! I couldn’t imagine doing anything more fulfilling with my life!
I am married to my husband, David, who is also a teacher and coach for North Platte Public Schools. It’s wonderful to share the love of teaching and learning together and we can’t wait to instill that onto our own kids. We have been blessed with two children--Allie and Isaac. With Allie almost four years old and Isaac turning one in a few months, our house is full of toys, laughter, and games of hide-and-go seek. Each day is something new with those two! We both love our kids to the moon and back! My husband and I enjoy cheering on the Huskers, spending time with family, and cooking. We look forward to the spring every year so we can plant flowers and make our backyard oasis!
I have been fortunate to have so many wonderful educators in my life. Many of my teachers have encouraged me to not only do my best and work my hardest, but they have helped me see my potential. I love collaborating with my fellow teachers and enjoy exploring new ideas and strategies for my own classroom. I have built strong relationships with the staff at Eisenhower that it almost feels like a second family! I hope my enthusiasm for learning will inspire my students to see and reach their goals in life!
