Cody Elementary | Title I
My name is Tina Hanson, and I am the Title teacher at Cody Elementary. This is my first year in the NPPSD, I have taught in three other school districts, and in the education profession for 21 years. I began teaching in Alief TX, teaching third grade. I moved back to my hometown Bellevue, Ne and taught in the OPS district for four years teaching first, and second grades. My next experience was teaching preschool for two years ages 3,4, and 5. I worked for the Bellevue Public Schools for 13 years. Which included teaching second, third, grade, and as a Title teacher grades k-6. Our first year in North Platte (2015) I taught reading at Mid-Plains Community College as well as working at Community Connections working with the Youth Leaders at both the Middle and High School Buildings.
I enjoy everyday working with students of all ages, and abilities., It is important to me that every student loves learning, is successful, and feels they get to come to school to a safe environment in which adults care about them.
My husband, Ron Hanson and I jointly decided North Platte would be a great place to live and finish out our educational careers in 2014-2015. This came, with his job as the new Superintendent for the NPPSD . We have six children ages 24, 21,21,20,20, and 18. Four boys, Hayden, Riley, Alec, and Brendan- and Two girls, Miranda, and Taylor. All of our kids are out of the house... but since moving to NP we have a vizsla Roscoe, with another vizsla puppy coming in the Spring. A couple of hen and ducks have made their way to the Hanson house also.
I received my bachelors degree from UNL, My Administrative degree from UNK, and 18 additional hour in reading from Walden University.
My husband and I are very much enjoying our new home here in North Platte.
