Jefferson Elementary | Kindergarten
My name is Jodi Leisy. I am originally from Mitchell, Nebraska and graduated from Mitchell High School. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Chadron State College in 1998. I later received a Master’s degree in both Curriculum and Instruction and School Counseling from Doane University in Crete, NE.
I married Justin Leisy in 1997. He is employed at Farm Credit Services of America and runs their Country Home Loans division in North Platte. We have three college and high school aged children. Our two oldest girls are Janessa and Jaedyn. Our son is Jacob. They are our pride and joy. We love camping, playing games, and hanging out together. We cheer for the North Platte Bulldogs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers any chance we get.
I am currently enjoying teaching Kindergarten at Jefferson Elementary. I have held many positions at North Platte Public Schools since 2008 when I was first hired. I have been an elementary School Counselor for both McDonald Elementary and Buffalo Elementary. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I have taught Kindergarten, second grade, and fourth grade at Lincoln and Washington Elementary.
As a teacher, I strongly believe that each student can learn with the right tools. It is my goal to help individual students find their way to a successful education. I believe it is my job to advocate for students to problem solve on a personal, social, and academic level. Many times Kindergarten is the first opportunity families have with formal education, and it is my privilege to walk alongside families as they navigate the journey of education and life-long learning.
