McDonald Elementary | 1st Grade
My name is Courtney Feeney. I graduated from Maxwell High School and received my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Chadron State College with a minor in Social Sciences. I have a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College.
I live in North Platte with my husband Drew and our labrador Parker. My husband and I are expecting our first child, a baby girl, due in February. My husband works at the Walmart Distribution Center and is currently attending Mid-Plains Community College where he will graduate with his Associate’s of Applied Science in Electrical Technology.
I teach first grade at McDonald Elementary School; this is my fifth year of teaching. I love this grade level and the amazing students I have had the privilege of teaching. Even before I began my career as a teacher I knew I wanted to work with children. I volunteered and read with third grade students while I was a senior in high school and worked as a para at Hall Elementary as I finished the last year of my Bachelor’s degree.
The vision of North Platte Public Schools is “Student Learning, Student Achievement, and Student Success”. I help support this vision at the primary level by helping my young students find their strengths, believe in themselves, and by teaching them the beginning skills they will need to be successful as they continue in their education. My ultimate goal is to help them develop a lifelong love of learning through incorporating lessons that encourage their natural curiosity, involve technology, and appeal to their interests. I am proud to be an educator with North Platte Public Schools.
