Washington Elementary | Second Grade
My name is Kristi Burford. My husband, Joe and I, live just a quarter of a mile from the farm and ranch that I grew up on 8 miles north of Brady in Wild Horse Valley.
I went to country school through 8th grade, and then graduated from Brady High School. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education K-12. I taught in Wahoo, Nebraska for 4 years as an elementary resource teacher, and then moved to North Platte to begin my career with North Platte Public Schools in 1996. I enjoyed teaching resource students at the following elementary schools: Buffalo, Lincoln, and Jefferson. In 2005, I began teaching 2nd grade at Washington Elementary, and it has been the highlight of my career. In 2007 I earned my master’s degree from Doane College in the area of Curriculum and Instruction.
I believe, and have seen the proof, that ALL children can learn. My strongest conviction as a teacher is to build relationships with my students so that they will reach their highest potential.
