North Platte Public Schools | Elementary Special Education Facilitator
My name is Reva Siegel, and I am a 5th grade teacher at Cody Elementary. Although this is my first year in North Platte Public Schools, I have been a teacher in two other districts. Prior to this year, I was a kindergarten teacher and special education teacher at Madison Elementary School in Madison, Nebraska. Before this, I began my career as a special-education teacher in Prairie Wind Elementary in Omaha Public Schools.
I love working with students of all ability levels, helping them to figure out how they learn best. I believe in identifying student strengths, and developing a classroom environment that is student-centered. It is important to me that all children feel welcome in my classroom, and that they know how intelligent and important they are.
My husband, Scott, is an Associate Principal at North Platte High School. We have been married for 7 years and have two daughters -- Zoey (5), and Stella (1). Zoey is currently in preschool, and we plan to enroll her at Lake Maloney Elementary in 2017-18. Our daughters mean everything to Scott and I. We want to give them the best opportunities in their lives, which is something we also work hard to create for our students.
I received my bachelors degree from Nebraska Wesleyan in the spring of 2008. Prior to this, I earned my high school diploma from Oakland-Craig High School in Oakland, Nebraska. I was a state-placer in both cross country and track & field during my high school athletic career. This includes being part of multiple state championship cross country teams. Go Knights!!
I am happy to call North Platte my home, and look forward to the years ahead.
