Peggy Romshek, Director of Special Education
I am Peggy Romshek, and I am the Special Services Director at North Platte Public Schools. I am originally from Bellwood, Nebraska, and I graduated from David City Aquinas High School. After graduating from Wayne State College, I taught K-12 Special Education in Orchard, Nebraska for seven years. After receiving my Master's in P-12 Administration at Wayne State College, I moved to Western Nebraska to begin my administrative career. I was the Special Education Director for Mitchell and Morrill Public Schools for six years. Mitchell Public Schools then hired me full-time as their Special Services Director, and I was in that role for eight years.
I moved to North Platte in the summer of 2016 and began my position with the North Platte Public School District on . I am excited to be here and work in such a wonderful school district that has a lot to offer. I am also excited to be closer to all my family that lives in eastern Nebraska.
As the Special Services Director for North Platte Public Schools, I strongly believe that we need to have high standards for ALL students including those with disabilities It is also our responsibility to work to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities and to provide quality services possible in collaboration with parents. It is my desire to see that all students identified as needing special education services make as much progress as possible so that they can be caring respectful citizens after graduating from North Platte Public Schools.
