North Platte High School | English
Hello! My name is Ashley Werkmeister. I was born in Brookings, SD, and I spent the first ten years of my life in the little town of Arlington, South Dakota. I came to North Platte with my family during my middle school years, and I have been here ever since, which means I graduated and received my high school diploma from North Platte High School. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Education with 7-12 endorsements in English and History from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I am currently working on my Masters of Arts in English with a writing emphasis, also from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
I am a Junior English Teacher here at North Platte High School, and I am so thankful to be in the hallways that I grew up in. It has been a great experience as my first teaching job. Before teaching acquiring a permanent position in the English department, I was also a substitute in the North Platte Public School District.
I am married to Casey Werkmeister, who teaches Dual Credit United State’s history at North Platte High School. We have two children, and one on the way, and being a mommy to them is another thing that I am so grateful for.
