North Platte High School | English

My name is Terry Sodawasser and enjoy walks on the beach, listening to the only true era of music...disco, hot tub relaxation in the winter, and opportunities to play with my grandchildren. I am 6’9” and am proud of my height. I am a seasoned man supporting a salt and pepper beard, probably more salt than pepper, but nonetheless. In search of a Pieces to match with this Libra.... oh, sorry I am working on the wrong bio here.

I have been teaching at North Platte High School for 15 years and love the way the community has reached out to my family. I have had many opportunities to teach a plethora of classes while in North Platte. I began in the old building , transferred to the existing building, transferred to Adams for three years and am stationed back in the current building.  I have taught Creative Writing, Careers, Beginning Journalism, Sophomore English, Senior English, and 6th graders.

I am also a coach for the district, and worked Middle School football for 10 years, Freshmen Girls Basketball for 9 years, and currently am the Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. I love the opportunity to work with students in the classroom as well as extracurricularly because you learn so much more about them with this opportunity.

I have been happily married to my wife Kaylene for 29 years, and we have two children, Katie Wright (2007), and Andrew (2010). Both of my children received quality educations and I am proud of their accomplishments. I am also a proud grandfather to three beautiful children.

I am a graduate of Augustana College with my teaching credentials certified in English 4-12, Journalism, and coaching endorsements in football and basketball. My Bachelor's Degree is from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in Broadcast Journalism. At UNO, I also had the opportunity to play college basketball which helped mold me into the man I am today.
