North Platte High School | Math
My name is Kyle Milton. I am originally from Cody, Nebraska, which is a small town in western Nebraska with a population of less than 200 people. I graduated from Cody-Kilgore High School with a graduating class of 13. After high school, I got my Bachelor’s Degree from Chadron State College in Math Education and will complete my Master’s Degree in School Administration in the Spring of 2017.
I married my high school sweetheart in July 2016. Her name is Haley and she also teaches in the district at Washington Elementary. We do not have any children, however, we have one dog. He is a boxer named Milo and he keeps us as busy as any child would.
At North Platte High School, I teach a combination of Algebra 2, PreCalculus, and Applied Math. I was hired and began my teaching career in the Fall of 2013.
As a teacher, it is my goal to connect with my students on a personal level which in turn allows me to be a more effective teacher when it comes to understanding math. The one thing I really like about teaching is that no two days are the same and each day presents its own challenges.
On top of teaching, I am an assistant football coach for the 9th grade football team and the head coach of the 9th grade girls basketball team. Coaching was always a dream of mine and it is something that I love to do. It allows me a place to be competitive and gives me a chance to be around the students in a non-school setting. The hard work and the dedication of the players is what brings me back everyday.
