North Platte Public Schools | School Nurse
My name is Jewel Hampton. I have been a Registered Nurse for nine years. I received my Associates Degree of Nursing from Mid Plains Community College in 2008. I was a labor and delivery nurse for six and half years, a spine clinic nurse and operating room assistant for just over one year before coming a school nurse. I have three elementary aged children; two girls and one boy. My husband has been a conductor on the railroad for 12 years and we enjoy being outdoors with our farm animals.
I enjoy my role as a school nurse and see great opportunity on educating our students about health, wellness, and illnesses. My goal as a school nurse is to ensure students are healthy enough to be in the classroom and learning; a student’s health is directly related to their ability to learn. Supporting classroom learning, offering health education, and providing healthcare needs to students is my primary goal. As I see more complex healthcare issues in the school setting, I am excited to bring my skills and knowledge to helping ensure safety and wellness for all of our students.
