North Platte High School | Math
My name is Sasha Welch. I am a North Platte girl, and I graduated from NPHS in 2004. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with endorsements in Mathematics and History in 2008, and I started teaching math at NPHS in January the following year. I received my Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education from Chadron State College in 2012. I am married to Eric Welch, who is an Area Technology Specialist at Mid Plains Community College. My hobbies include dominating my fantasy football league, reading, and traveling. You can find me on twitter @MrsWelch1203 for homework tips, test reminders, or math fun!
At North Platte High School, I teach dual-credit math courses and Applied Math. The mission of our school is to prepare students to be career and college-ready, and my courses prepare those looking to go on to study at the collegiate level, as well as those entering the workforce to be successful in math. I love the beauty and logic math brings to the world, and I am constantly striving to bring my passion and love of math into my classroom and into my students’ lives.
As the Key Club sponsor, I am able to encourage students as they volunteer throughout the community. It is important that students take ownership of their community and take pride in their surroundings and their actions, and Key Club provides opportunities for students to be a part of their community and to give back to it.
