McDonald Elementary | 5th Grade
My name is Mendi Roehrs. I graduated from North Platte High School in 1995. I earned my Associate of Arts degree from Mid-Plains Community College and my Bachelor of Science degree from Chadron State College. I recently finished my coursework at Doane University and earned my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I started teaching at North Platte Public School in 2009. I taught at Hall Elementary for 6 years; 5 years in 5th grade and 1 year in 4th grade. After Hall closed, I transferred to Cody Elementary to teach 1st grade. I knew my true passion was to teach 5th grade, so took the opportunity to teach at McDonald Elementary.
I am married to Matt and we have 2 fabulous children; Camerin (18) and Cayden (12). Camerin is currently attending North Platte Community College majoring in Biology and Cayden is a 6th grader at Madison Middle School. Matt works at Union Pacific Railroad.
I believe that education can be fun and exciting. I believe that every student can be successful as long as someone believes in them and encourages them. I believe that every student deserves the very best. Our students are our future. Working together as a community our students have all of the tools that they need to be successful. At North Platte Public Schools we believe that Student Learning, Student Achievement, and Student Success are the keys to building our future with our students.
