Madison Middle School | Art
Hello! My name is Jacki Proctor. I am the Art Teacher, HAL Coordinator and one of the Adventure 360 teachers at Madison. I have been teaching Art in the North Platte District since 2012. Although I am a native of Grand Island, I spent many years traveling with my husband while he served in the Air Force. We lived in Texas, Guam, South Dakota, Washington State and Germany before returning to Nebraska. During that time I worked in childcare and Youth & Family services for the Air Force. Here in North Platte I have worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Lincoln County, Turning Point Family Services and North Platte Recreation Center. I earned a Bachelorís Degree in Studio Art and Art History as well as worked on a Masterís degree in Art and Non-profit management at Eastern Washington University and earned my teaching certification through the Transition to Teaching program at UNK in 2012. While with the Air Force I gained experience working with Project Adventure in personal challenge and team-building facilitation. Utilizing PA training I initiated the Adventure 360 program here at Madison in 2015 to focus on social and emotional learning for our students and was inspired to pursue a Masterís degree in Experiential Learning and Development through Plymouth State University which will be completed in the fall of 2018.
I have two children: a daughter who is a paramedic with the Air Force and a son who is in the music and technology industry.
In my free time I enjoy, biking, swimming, kayaking and camping as well as reading and painting. I am currently exhibiting my art work at Studio K in Grand Island.
