Bobbi Isom, Principal
My name is Roberta Isom but I go by Bobbi. I grew up in Litchfield, a small town in central Nebraska until I was in the ninth grade. I then moved to Kearney, Nebraska and graduated in 1983 from Amherst High School in Amherst, Nebraska. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education at Kearney State College.
My husband and I then moved to California where I taught for 6 years. During our time in California I taught resource and Special Day Class for kids with greater learning and behavior concerns. I continued my education at Cal State Northridge and Cal State San Bernardino in the area of special education. I earned my certification in Learning Disabilities and worked toward a Master's degree in Special Education. We were blessed with two children during this time period so we decided to move back to Nebraska to be closer to family.
I accepted a teaching position at Adams Middle School in North Platte in 1994 and continued teaching there for 21 years. I taught resource and sixth grade social studies at Adams. Four years ago I moved to Madison Middle School where I continued to teach social studies. Due to my love for education, especially middle level education, I returned to school and I earned a Master of Education in Middle Level Education in 2008. I then earned a Masters in Special Education Curriculum and Administration in 2016. I am definitely a life-long learner.
Last year I decided it was time in my life to use my administration degree. I applied and was chosen for the position of Madison Middle School principal. I am very excited for this challenge and feel that my years as a teacher and education have provided me with a good foundation to undertake this challenge. I am very excited and honored to guide your child's learning for sixth grade.
My children are now grown and living on their own. I am a grandma to five amazing grand children and love to spend time with them. I like to read and spend time with my family when I am not at school.
