I am Dr. Tami Eshleman and I serve in the role of Associate Superintendent.  I have the wonderful opportunity to work with the Directors of Special Education and Teaching and Learning.  I supervise Student Services and Kids Klub for the North Platte Public School district.  My role directing Human Resources allows me to have the opportunity to ensure that our students are provided with the best possible educational experience.

I am originally from North Platte and am a 1991 graduate of North Platte High Schools. I received my Bachelors degree from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1995 with a Psychology Degree. I dual-matriculated during my undergraduate to add Secondary Social Students Education Endorsement.  I was hired in 1995 to teach at North Platte High School. I was fortunate to teach alongside some of my former teachers. I later received my Masters degree in Administration from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1995 and my Education Specialist from University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2006. I taught at North Platte High School for fifteen years in the Social Studies Department. I taught in the old NPHS buildings and the new NPHS building. In 2010, I became the Human Resources Director for North Platte Public Schools.  I have served as the Human Resources Director, Interim Superintendent and currently Associate Superintendent.  In August 2016, I finished my career as a student as I walked across the stage at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to receive my Doctorate degree.

I am married to Rob Eshleman. He is employed by Nebraska Public Power District and works in Sutherland at the Gerald Gentleman Station. We have two boys, Ryan and Joshua. We built our dream home on Rob’s family land near his parents. As a former History teacher, a fun fact is that we have the bill of sale of the family land from the 1800s.

North Platte Public Schools’ purpose is to prepare students to be productive, responsible citizens in a safe, caring, supportive learning environment. Our direction is to prepare every student for success through high quality educational programs delivered by highly effective educators who use innovative, researched-based strategies in a safe and supportive environment in collaboration with family, businesses, and community members. Through strategic planning our district leadership team sets annual goals to ensure that we provide the necessary resources to achieve our purpose and direction.

As Associate Superintendent, I strongly believe that teachers are the number one factor that impacts student learning. Building professional capacity with the teachers is an essential factor in our professional development, curriculum development, and student success plans. North Platte Public Schools.  Our focus will be to improve student success by building professional capacity with teachers and principals; developing and implementing systemic and systematic processes that impact the teaching and learning in every classroom; and planning, developing, and implementing programs that prepare students for the next phase of life. Our support services are vital to the success of our students and we value their contribution to our students.

If I were to share my one word, it would be: BELIEVE!
