Education:

Masters Degree in Elementary School Counseling (K-6), December 2009, University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Masters Degree in Community Counseling, September 2004, University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Masters in Education Secondary School Counseling, (7-12) December 2002, University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, May 1983, Chadron State College Secondary History and Social Science Composite with a Coaching Endorsement.

Graduate of North Platte High School, North Platte, Nebraska. 

Experience:

K-5 Elementary School Counselor, Jefferson Elementary School, 2007 to present.

Licensed Mental Health Professional/Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Lutheran Family Services, North Platte, Nebraska 2005 to present.

K-12 Guidance Counselor/Teacher/Coach Arnold Public Schools, 2000-2005.

I Believe:

  •     Attitudes formed during elementary school shape future attitudes toward self, learning and society.

                                          

What is a Professional Elementary School Counselor?

  1. A trained professional with a Master's Degree that is here to help/support ALL children socially, emotionally and academically. I work with students individually as well as in small groups and teach classroom guidance lessons.
  2. A resource person.
  3. A liaison, coordinator, with outside agencies.
  4. A Professional Counselor.
  5. A Consultant for parents, staff, and administrators.

                                                            

How Do Students See Me?

    1. Self Referral by students.

    2. Parent Referral/Request by phoning the office at Jefferson Elementary at 535-7136.

    3. Teacher/Staff Referral.

    4. Administrative Referral.
