Every Child Deserves a Great Place to Play!!

July 15, 2010

Every child deserves a great place to play!

The Purpose:
Playgrounds at Jefferson, Washington, Eisenhower and Cody will be handicap-accessible and designed to enable children with special needs to join their friends at play. The playgrounds feature brand new equipment, protective surfacing and borders, and wheelchair accessible pathways. The accessible playgrounds have a layout of specifically selected playground equipment connected and arranged in a manner that is barrier-free and supports child development. Equipment was carefully selected and laid out in configurations that are fun, rigorous, and challenging for children of different abilities.  Playgrounds are important places of social interaction, as well as physical and emotional development for all children. Our ultimate goal is to provide a safe place where all children can play together and have fun.
