Cody Elementary | Preschool
My name is Tammy Michaels. I was born and raised in North Platte, Nebraska. I graduated from North Platte High School. My husband, Lance, and I have three daughters named Setera, Kenzie, and Jaedyn. We also have an adorable granddaughter name Emmersyn. We love spending time with our family and outdoors. We are avid football fans, especially the Huskers. GBR!
I earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education and an Endorsement in Early Childhood from University of Nebraska Kearney. I earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University. I began my teaching career with North Platte as a substitute teacher. In 1998 I began teaching 4th grade, moved down to 2nd grade, and then to down to Kindergarten. Now I am teaching Preschool.
I believe that every student has undeniable potential. I want them to believe in themselves and to know that they can do anything they set out to do. The classroom needs to be a positive, safe and stable place for children. Children learn in different ways and at different stages. It is my job to reach them where they are and take them as far as they can go. I believe that young children learn through play. Children will develop emotionally, socially, and cognitively through play. This will help them to approach life with self-confidence so they can be successful and life-long learners.
I can honestly say that I love my job! There is not a day that goes by that I don’t feel blessed being with my students. They are simply amazing! They are so happy and eager to learn. They make me smile!
