Cody Elementary | 1st Grade
My name is Amanda Condon. I was born and raised right here in little old North Platte. I graduated from North Platte High in 2002. I received my Associate’s Degree from Mid-Plains community College, my Bachelor’s Degree from Chadron State College in Elementary Education, and my Master’s Degree from University of Nebraska at Kearney in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am happily married to my husband, Jeremy, seven years this June. He works for the the North Platte Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic. We have two wonderful children who take up most of our free time. Darius is a fourth grader at McDonald Elementary and enjoys video games and sports. Olivia is my youngest, she is three going on fifteen. She loves anything girly and brings lots of drama to our lives.
I am currently a first grade teacher at Cody Elementary. This is my eighth year of teaching first grade in the North Platte School District. I love first grade because they are so eager to learn and it is the year of firsts for sure. They just have such a huge growth from the day they come in, to the day they leave us. As of now, I don’t ever see myself leaving first grade, it feels like home and where I belong. As a teacher, my main goal is to provide a safe, comfortable learning environment where every child is able to be themselves and reach their highest potential.
