Linda Clavel, Principal
I am Linda Clavel, principal at Buffalo Elementary. I am a native of North Platte, and the granddaughter of early settlers who homesteaded near Scout’s Rest Ranch. I attended North Platte Public Schools grades kindergarten through high school graduation. I earned my Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and upon graduation returned to North Platte to begin my thirty year teaching career at North Platte High School as a language arts teacher. After raising a family, I returned to school and earned a Master of Education in Counseling. I then worked as an elementary counselor and high school counselor before completing my administrative certification and moving into the principalship at Buffalo Elementary.
My passion has always been education while taking a special interest in underserved populations. I believe that all students can and will learn. I believe that we as educators have the power and ultimate responsibility to ensure that what they do learn will prepare them to be responsible, productive citizens. I believe that teachers change the world - one child at a time.
