Adams Middle School | Math
My name is Rachael Greenwood. I graduated from the high school here in North Platte in 2008, however I spent most of my childhood in Colorado Springs. I earned my bachelor’s degree of education from Chadron State College with endorsements in middle school math and social studies. I was a member of the Women’s Basketball team while I went to school in Chadron. I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
I am married to Adam Greenwood. He is a UPS driver for the center here in town. We currently do not have any children, but we do have a fur baby! Our dog, Louie, is a Goldendoodle who has a lot of energy and enjoys going on walks and playing fetch.
I am in my third year of teaching and have been lucky enough to spend all three of those years at Adams Middle School. I teach 7th grade math and I really enjoy the content I teach as well as spending my days with all of my students who keep me on my toes!
Outside of school I try to keep active. I really enjoy running, Jazzercise, riding my bike, and playing on rec volleyball teams. I also like to read, watch movies, doing crafty things, traveling, and spending time with my family!
As our directive states, I strive to prepare all of my students for success using a variety of research based teaching techniques. I ensure that my classroom is a supportive and safe environment to give students the best opportunities as possible. I believe in the importance of getting to know my students as individuals so that they feel cared for. As a school, and as an educator, we also believe in collaboration with families and businesses. North Platte School District is a great school system and I am proud to be a part of it.
